Volunteer Position Descriptions

We at HACIUSA understand the importance of volunteers in making our events successful. We encourage members of the community at large to come and show their support by volunteering at our special events. We offer a wide variety of positions to help align with experience and expertise of those interested. By volunteering, you will assist in our mission to foster cultural understanding and appreciation.

Family Village

This is an opportunity for volunteers who excel with child care and other activities involving younger school-aged children.  You will have the chance to assist with a variety of cultural arts & craft activities, be a play-leader for various games, and assist the Stage Manager.

Beverage Booth Sales

Those who enjoy a fast-paced work environment and who are outgoing are needed to pour and serve beverages and check ID’s. Must be at least 18 years of age. The Booth Manager will train on-site.


This position is perfect for individuals who enjoy carrying out a wide variety of tasks and are generally helpful in nature. Floaters will provide utility to assist other positions and are especially needed when there are shortages in other areas.

Generation Drummer

Volunteers are needed to supervise and engage teenagers and young adults in arts & craft activities. Adults who are positive and especially those individuals with experience working with this age group are encouraged to apply.


Volunteer greeters will be needed in a variety of areas: sponsor hospitality, information and welcome booths, Exhibition monitoring, and serving as festival ambassadors to ensure everyone is having a pleasant experience. If you are a sociable person who is able to get along with different types of people, this may be the position for you.

Merchandise Booths

Individual with good customer service and business skills are needed to assist with the sales of t-shirts, posters, and other festival merchandise. Booth managers will train on-site.

Stage Assistant

Stage Assistants will assist the stage manager: checking credentials, escorting performers, organizing dressing rooms, seating VIPS, running errands, and other duties as assigned.

Ticket Sales

If you are a detail oriented person with excellent customer service and business skills, we need individuals to assist with ticket sales.

Vendor Assistant

Volunteers are needed to assist with checking in vendors. This position will actually begin before the festival commences and will involve detailed paperwork concerning vendors and their locations within the festival.  In depth training will be provided for this position.

Volunteer Coordinator

A person with intrapersonal and management skills a must for this position. These individuals will manage, assist, and coordinate the various volunteers.

We ask that our volunteers attend a mandatory volunteer orientation that will take place no later than ONE WEEK before the festival event. Details will be provided as soon as they are available. If you plan to work the festival, please plan to attend the orientation (*volunteers who do not attend the orientation will not work the festival, no exceptions*). Important information about the festival will be discussed and disseminated during the orientation.  Please provide at least TWO methods (phone and e-mail) by which we may contact you with changes and/or information about the festival. We also ask that volunteers work a minimum of one shift per day of the festival. If you are able to provide more time, we are greatly appreciative.
